Course Description

This course introduces microeconomic concepts and analysis, supply and demand analysis, theories of the firm and individual behavior, competition and monopoly, and welfare economics. Students will also be introduced to the use of microeconomic applications to address problems in current economic policy throughout the semester.

Micro Economy - ECTS

Exams

One midterm exam and one final are schedule for the semester. The final exam is cumulative. Exams could be a combination of multiple-choices, true-false, matching, ordering, fill-in-the-blank, and short answer.

  • Class 3  to • Class 10:  Nature and Functions of Products market.
  • Class 3  to • Class 5 : Supply & demand : Market Equilibrium. Price & Quantity Control. Elasticity.
  • Class 5  •Class 6: Theory of Consumer choice : Total & Marginal utility, individual & market demand curves.
  • Class 7 • to • Class 10:  Production & Cost.

Mid Term Exam

  • Class 11 to • Class 17 : Firm Behavior & Market structure : Profit – Perfect Competition, Monopoly, Oligopoly, Monopolistic competition, special cases
  • Class 17 to • Class 21: Opportunity Cost
  • Class 20 to • Class 25: Applied Micro Economics : Labor – Financial - Public – Political - Health - Urban
